Lawyer for media, creators, tech and sport.
For businesses and talent doing deals with global brands, studios and platforms.
I’ve spent twelve years on every side of those deals and helped build two start-ups. I build my own AI tools for the repeat work and check everything myself.

Background
About me
I’ve advised the brand, the agency, the platform, the publisher, the manager and the talent.
I trained at the international firm Pinsent Masons. In 2014 I was a founding member of Brandsmiths, the IP and sport boutique, and its first lawyer. Seven years, nearly forty lawyers by the time I left, and The Times now lists it among the best law firms for intellectual property. Along the way: Ministry of Sound, Pentland Brands, PureGym, LADbible, Leeds United, David Haye, Roberto Carlos, Mo Farah, a stint as Head of Legal at JD Sports, and the Rule 40 case for more than 50 British Olympic athletes.
Since 2021 I’ve been General Counsel at Kyra, setting up the legal function as it grew into an AI-powered influencer marketing company. With the legal team I built a contract advisor that tells campaign managers which creator terms apply, suggests the wording and flags what needs a decision.
Wax On Legal is my own business. Through it I advise Pubity, Rising Ballers and Kuba&Friends, and creators and their management, including Iconicakes.
Based in London. Deals in the UK, the US and further afield. French, Spanish and Portuguese, and I lived in Argentina and Brazil.
A few practical things
We already have a law firm.
That’s fine. I handle the day-to-day and work alongside them, or your in-house team, on the bigger things.
I’m a creator or an athlete, not a company. Is this for me?
If you’re doing deals with household names, yes. The contracts are the same ones a company signs. I’ve advised athletes, boxers and creators, and the brands and managers on the other side.
We’re an agency. Where do we fit?
In the middle, with a brand one side, talent the other and your own terms in between. That’s where Kyra sits, so it’s the deal I know best.
I manage talent. How does this work?
Send me the deal. I work with you and your client on it, and the fee is agreed before I start.
We’re raising or selling. Can you help?
Yes. I worked on company sales at Brandsmiths and funding rounds at Kyra, and I have corporate lawyers I work with when a deal needs a bigger team.
