This notice explains how Wax On Consulting Ltd, trading as Wax On Legal, uses personal information when you get in touch or become a client.

Who I am

Wax On Consulting Ltd (company number 14288265, registered office 16 Leinster Road, London N10 3AN) is the controller of your personal information. You can contact me at ben@waxonlegal.com.

What I collect

What you send me: your name, contact details and whatever you tell me about your business or matter. If you become a client, I also hold the information I need to do the work, run a conflicts check and invoice you.

Why I use it

To reply to you and work out whether I can help, which is in our legitimate interests and a step towards a contract. To do the work you ask me to do, under our contract. To meet legal and professional obligations, including conflict checks, record keeping and insurance.

This website

This site doesn’t use analytics, tracking or advertising cookies.

Who sees it

My email and document storage providers, my accountants and professional indemnity insurers where needed, and specialists I bring in with your agreement. [TO CONFIRM: the AI tools used on client work and their data terms.] I don’t sell personal information.

Some providers store data outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that don’t turn into work: up to 12 months. Client files: at least six years after the matter ends, in line with limitation periods and my insurance.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask me to correct or delete it, object to how I use it, or ask me to restrict it. Email ben@waxonlegal.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
